Aging-in-Place Bathroom Remodeling in Albany & the Capital Region

Plan a bathroom that is easier to enter, use, and maintain without making it look institutional. Moore Done Right designs elegant aging-in-place bathrooms and showers around the homeowner, the existing room, and the way the space is used—not a one-size-fits-all package. Options can include low-threshold entry, securely backed grab bars, INVISIA shelf-and-grab-bar combinations, seating, handheld controls, useful storage, and easy-clean surfaces. Where the room and structure allow, we can also design zero-barrier or curbless showers; drainage, waterproofing, floor height, and entry clearances must be measured before that option is promised.

Elegant Support & Storage

Support can look like part of a high-end shower. MDR installs traditional grab bars plus HealthCraft INVISIA Shampoo Shelf + Grab Bar and Corner Shelf + Grab Bar options that combine secure support with useful storage and refined finishes. The grab-bar component—not the removable shelf tray—is the support, and installation depends on verified framing or added wood blocking and the manufacturer’s instructions.

1. Traditional or shelf-integrated support options
2. Secure installation into framing or proper blocking
3. Finishes selected to complement the shower

Seats & Benches

Add a fold-down seat or built-in bench so you can sit while bathing, shaving, or simply relaxing. Seats reduce fatigue and make bathing safer for anyone with balance or mobility concerns.

1. Fold-down or fixed bench options
2. Non-slip surfaces & rounded edges
3. Ideal for aging-in-place upgrades

Handheld Showers & Controls

Handheld showerheads and slide bars make it easier to bathe while seated and rinse hard-to-reach areas. We place controls so you can turn on the water without stepping into the spray.

1. Ergonomic handheld sprayers & slide bars
2. Lever handles & pressure-balanced valves
3. Ideal for multi-generational households

Real MDR Aging-in-Place Project Evidence

The source-locked Selkirk project is real Moore Done Right work. It visibly shows a low-threshold shower, integrated seat, handheld shower, easy-maintenance wall panels, a recessed niche, and the black HealthCraft INVISIA Shampoo Shelf + Grab Bar installed beneath that niche. The integrated product provides storage plus a separate structural grab-bar component; the removable shelf tray is not the support. These features support factual aging-in-place messaging, but a finished room should not be called ADA compliant without a project-specific evaluation.

Safety & Accessibility FAQs

Yes. We can add grab bars to most existing acrylic or tile showers and tubs. We locate framing or add proper blocking so every bar is solid – not just anchored into drywall.

Our installers drill only where necessary and seal every penetration to maintain waterproofing. We work carefully with both acrylic and tile so safety upgrades look neat and intentional.

Not always. Many clients start with grab bars, seats, and handheld showers. If you later decide to upgrade to a full walk-in or one-day acrylic system, we can build on the safety features already installed.

Moore Done Right serves homeowners throughout the Capital Region of New York, including Albany, Rensselaer, Saratoga, and nearby communities.
